Founder and owner of Studio of Learning. I have been in education for the past 30 years. I have worked in both mainstream schools as well as in an assisted learning environment. I am passionate about working and helping children achieve their own personal goals. I have taught children from grade 1 – 7, however, I feel at home in the foundation phase. I enjoy art in the classroom and to watch how children express themselves through their art work. My outside interests include working my team of beagles in agility, tracking and trick work.
Over the past 8 years, I have worked in both a mainstream and a remedial environment. I enjoy working with children in the Intermediate Phase as well as the older students. My Favourite teaching subject are Maths and Economic Management Science. My other interests are running. I am a marathon runner and have successfully completed the Comrades Marathon twice.
I am an assistant teacher at Studio of Learning. I have been with SOL for the past 5 years. I work with children of all ages and assist the teachers wherever possible. I have been working with children for 10 years. I also work in an aftercare care centre as a homework teacher in the afternoons. My hobbies are reading and artwork.
I am a “veteran” teacher with about 45 years’ experience. I enjoy teaching the Intermediate Phase. My favourite teaching subjects are English and History. I enjoy reading and keeping in touch with family and friends. I love our South African wildlife and visit the Kruger Park often.
Over the past few years I have earned my Honors degree in Psychology and tutored at university level. I currently teach the high school students at SOL. My favorite subjects to teach include History and English and I particularly like to encourage the children to develop their critical thinking skills. Outside of SOL, I love to read and to work with my dogs in agility, man work and working trials.
